A Queen’s Legacy- Historical Retelling
Sitting before the fire, Queen Marie Therese looks at the newly minted book created to celebrate her life and that of her husband, King Louis XIV. As she caresses the raised seal bearing her monogram, she reflects on the life she has led since her arranged marriage in 1660. She had strived and succeeded in gaining the respect of her husband and his court in spite of the fact that the marriage was only arranged because of the Franco-Spanish War. On top of furthering the royal line, she proved to be a diplomatic asset and even assumed the role of a regent when the need arose. It may not have been the life she would have chosen, but, as the pages of this book revealed, it was a life at which she excelled. - historical reimagining-
