Description

Description

The 19th century imperial cipher "M" belonged to Empress Maria Feodorovna, consort of Czar Alexander III of Russia.  She was known for her exceptional taste as demonstrated by her cipher.  The elegantly crafted "M" cipher is a captivating work of art.  It was the model for a gift given to Princess Alexandra, wife of Czar Nicholas II, last Czar of Russia, in the form of a gorgeous diamond brooch.  Lynda replicated the cipher from the brooch into a sterling silver pendant with the intricately crafted detailed "M" being cut out and presented in the cut out form with a smooth border.  A striking gift for that special some with this initial or with the "M" having a special meaning, or simply as a wonderful work of art from the 19th century.
