Description

Description

This "C7" monogram was sourced from a Danish coin dated 1771 and is a classic two letter icon with a mirrored C7 to the left in order to create balance.  The ornate lettering was designed for King Christian VII of Denmark.  He is affectionately known by Danes as "crazy king Christian".  The crown is the king's crown.  The monogram, with mirror image, was replicated and placed on this sterling silver pendant.  The piece is enhanced by a sculpted top border, a large attached sterling silver bale, and hammered edging.  An interesting conversation piece when worn and very popular with the Danes.  A great gift for the collector of royal memorabilia or that someone special who loves 18th century art.
