“Winged Victory” was the title of a series of medals referred to as Inter Allied Victory Medals. Several variations were designed and awarded, in gratitude, to the allied soldiers across the globe at the end of World War I in 1919. Designed by Belgian sculptor, Paul Du Bouis, this particular medal bore the coat of arms for 10 countries including the United States, French Third Republic, Empire of Japan, and the United Kingdom on its reverse side.
