The ornate design, from the 1500's, was found in Charles Demengeot's 1881 book, Dictionnaire Chiffre-Monogramme, published in Paris, France. This piece is modeled after the pressmark of Parisian printer, Simon De Colines (1480-1546).  As one of the first printers of the French Renaissance, he worked exclusively for the University of Paris from 1520 to 1546.  Over the span of his lifetime, he also worked as an editor, publisher, and punchcutter.  De Colines published over 700 separate editions using rabbits, satyrs, and philosophers as pressmarks.   Lynda carefully replicated the design and placed it on the 7.7-inch sterling silver bracelet.  The raised images were enhanced by hand decorated coloring around the images with gold and black metal ink - which resulted in a striking piece.  Attached to the bracelet is an elegant Aurelia double looped, gold bonded and sterling silver chain with lobster clasp.  A fabulous replica of Renaissance art work, this exquisite piece of jewelry is a wonderful gift, that when worn will generate a lot of admirers.
